I already explained that it would be a few chapters until I introduced Jason and there's a reason for that. Which you will learn in a few more chapters. But don't worry Jason's formal introduction will be in the next chapter! This one is just more about Robin and Elizabeth and little Alex and Lucky! Enjoy!!

Chapter 3
The weeks of the semester went by and Elizabeth was finally settling into a routine. She would get up in the morning, go to class, study in the library for a few hours, go for a run in the late afternoon and then maybe meet up with Alex if he wasn't too busy or if she didn't need to cram for a test. And then of course there was Robin and her never ending boy drama. She had pretty much given up on getting Patrick to notice her and turned her attention to the guys in their co-ed dorm. Elizabeth often wondered when she had time to study in between all the partying she was doing. Elizabeth worried about her young friend. She didn't want her to become another statistic. And because she was a little older than Robin she felt like she had to look out for her. But she didn't want to come off as a mother hen so she kept most of her comments to herself. But she had to speak up when she walked into her room one night and found Robin about to have sex with some guy. She walked out of the room and went down the hall to cool down and waited for them to get dressed. When the boy went running out of the room Elizabeth stalked in there mad.
"I can't believe you Robin, you know we are supposed to be studying for this microbiology test we have coming up. Why are you and some strange boy going at it in here?"
"He's not a strange boy Elizabeth. His name is Julian and he's so hot."
"Wait Julian, 4th floor Julian, best friends with Alex, that Julian?? This just keeps getting better and better."

"Oh loosen up." Robin said walking over to their mini-fridge and pulling out a soda. "You act so old Elizabeth. People would think you were 31 instead of 21. Haven't you ever let loose and had fun before?" You act like what I'm doing is a crime. This is college and this is what people do. They have fun, get drunk, and hook up with guys."
"And you know what else they do Robin, they go to class and get decent grades so that they can graduate and get a job when they leave college. I'm not trying to stop your fun just think you should slow down a little. You are going to burn out before you hit junior year. How do you expect to get into med school with D's and F's?"
Elizabeth argued with her.
"I'm doing well. I don't need you to look after me alright. I'm quite capable."
"Really now, what did you get on our last 2 quizzes?" Elizabeth folding her arms across her chest and raising an eyebrow at Robin.
Robin just stared at her for a moment.
"Well?" Elizabeth asked not backing down.
"A 65 and a 75, alright. That's still passing. You sound worse than my mother, when she bothers to call me. Always nagging me about my grades."
"You know no med school is going to accept a student with C's in science classes. Isn't that why you asked me to help you study for this test we have tomorrow. I have an A average so I really don't need to study but you asked me for help and because I consider you a friend I thought I would help you. But if you don't want it I'm sure Julian would be more than happy to come back so you guys could finish what you started." Elizabeth said rolling her eyes and going to grab her backpack to leave the room.
"Wait! Elizabeth don't go. You are right, I do need your help. I don't want to fail. Being a doctor as always been my dream and I don't want to mess that up, please stay. I'll stop partying so much." Robin said practically begging.
Elizabeth looked at her and saw that she really was sorry. But Elizabeth knew that the young girl just wasn't ready to leave her partying ways behind just yet. She would just have to be patient and hope and pray that this year ended quickly so that she could move out and maybe get her own apartment far, far away from Robin. Robin was right Elizabeth wasn't her mother and she hated feeling like she had to protect Robin from the evils of the world. She figured Robin would learn some day all the partying and hooking up with boys was going to catch up to her one day like it did with her. She hoped for Robin's sake that it didn't end badly.
"Fine I'll help you, but don't make promises you can't keep. We all know you are not just going to quit partying cold turkey. All I ask is that you just not bring boys back to our room especially after hours. I am not trying to get kicked out of this dorm."
"Promise!" Robin said holding her right hand up. Elizabeth rolled her eyes at her then started smiling.
"Alright let's get to work" Elizabeth said grabbing her backpack and pulling her books out.

********************************
Much to Elizabeth's surprise Robin did slow down on the partying the last few weeks of the semester. And the two roommates seemed to get closer as they put their differences aside. They started hanging out together more and talking about life and their families. They went shopping together, well Elizabeth just watched Robin shop, and Elizabeth even went to a party or two with her. The parties were real low key the way Elizabeth liked them. Just when one aspect of her life seemed to be getting better it seemed another part was falling apart. As Elizabeth started hanging out more with Robin and studying more for finals fast approaching it seemed that Alex was feeling neglected. He would whine when she said she couldn't go over to his place to "just hang out" Knowing good and well that hanging out for Alex meant making out with her and trying to get into her pants. She liked him, but he just didn't spark anything within her. And it didn't help that he was cheap. The one time she actually took him up on his offer to hang out they ended up at a sandwich shop. It wasn't until they both ordered their sandwiches that he let her know that he didn't have any money. She was down to her last $10 for the month until her Grams would send her some money. She was so upset she walked out of the shop, ordered him to get into the car, dropped him off at home, said goodnight and didn't speak to him for a week. He called about 3 times a day apologizing about it explaining that he thought that she was taking him out for lunch. Elizabeth just rolled her eyes and ignored him until one day he showed up at her dorm with a sub sandwich in hand and her favorite beverage of hot chocolate. She decided to give him another chance, which she decided as they drove home for Thanksgiving, was a bad idea.
It was Thanksgiving holiday weekend. After her final class that Wednesday afternoon Elizabeth had planned a road trip home with her 2 friends that she made that semester. Turned out that Robin had an uncle who lived in Port Charles and since her parents were in Europe she decided to spend the holiday with him and her cousins. Alex's family lived in the small town of Crimson Heights which was a little past Port Charles so since he didn't have a car Elizabeth thought it would be a nice way to spend some time together on the 6 hour journey back home. So the three of them loaded into the car and headed out of Syracuse. It was one hour into the journey before Alex and Robin were at each other's throat with Elizabeth threatening to kick them both out on the side of the highway. Alex didn't like the way Robin played his friend Julian and he had no qualms about voicing his opinion of Robin. Robin of course commented on how he was a cheap bastard and probably had a small package, which secretly amused Elizabeth. It was three hours into the journey when Alex wanted to drive because he felt that Elizabeth was driving too slow. He knew a short cut to Port Charles he said. It was 4 hours until he got not one but two speeding tickets which had Robin snickering in the backseat and Elizabeth trying so hard not to laugh at him. Elizabeth got back into the driver's seat and they finally arrived in Port Charles two hours later than they originally attended. She dropped Robin off at her Uncle Mac's house and then drove the 30 minutes it took to get to Alex's house, finally arriving at her Gram's at 9pm that evening feeling utterly exhausted.
"Elizabeth you're finally home." Grams said going to the door to hug her granddaughter.
"Hi Grams. Yeah had the car ride from hell. Sorry I took so long. I would have called you if I had one of those cell phones al the kids have these days." Elizabeth said trying to guilt the woman into getting her a cell phone.
"We'll talk about it later." He Grams said hugging Elizabeth again. Elizabeth just held her and took in her scent. "I really missed you Grams. I didn't think going away would be so hard."
"But you're doing well in your classes and you have friends right?"
"Yes I am. And I even met a boy. But I don't know how much longer that is going to last." Elizabeth said mumbling that last part asn she grabbed her bag and started up the stairs.
"What was that Elizabeth?"
"Nothing Grams, what time is Steven coming by tomorrow for dinner?"
"He and his new girlfriend Carly will be by around 3pm."
"New girlfriend uh? Does he ever keep one longer than 3 months." Elizabeth said shaking her head as she walked up the stairs and dropped herself on her bed happy to be home.
" I should be one to talk, I've only been going out with Alex for about a month and I'm ready to dump him." She said out loud to herself. She didn't want to think about Alex anymore or school she just wanted to enjoy her holiday with family and good food.
"Oh dear, Lucky called earlier and said he would be by in the morning to see you." Grams called up to her room.
"Great, so much for enjoying my holiday."

The next morning Elizabeth woke up to the smell of turkey baking in the oven. She heard her stomach growl. "Ok ok I'm getting up." She answered back to it. She got up showered and got dress and made her way down to the kitchen. Before she got through the kitchen doors she heard a male voice . On instinct she ran into the kitchen thinking it was her brother.
"Stevey!!" She said rushing into the kitchen and came to a dead stop when she saw it was none other than Lucky Spencer.
"Oh Lucky. Hi."
"Is that the way you great the love of your life that you haven't seen in months." He said walking over to her and hugging her pretty tight.
"Oh it's been months, since you call me all the time if felt like I only left the day before yesterday." She said not even trying to hide her annoyance.
Lucky let go of her and looked down at her. "Oh Liz you've always been such a kidder."

"Yeah right, haha . That's me. What are you doing here so early?"
"Didn't your grams tell you I was stopping by? I wanted to see you, and since my dad is actually here on Thanksgiving we are actually having a real dinner and wanted to invite you, that is after you have dinner with your Grams."
Elizabeth looked to her Grams to save her. She didn't have anything against Lucky or his family but she knew if she did spend Thanksgiving with them that they would take it for more than it was. She didn't want to lead Lucky on. She will always think back fondly on their relationship but she was ready to move on past it. Although Alex wasn't cutting it right now she just knew that "the one" was out there waiting for her and she didn't want to be tied down to Lucky Spencer or Alex Noel when she met him.
"We'll see Lucky. We have some guests coming for dinner and I might have to help Grams clean up. I can't let her do it all by herself, so if it doesn't get too late I'll stop by." She said hoping and praying her Grams didn't tell her that she didn't need her help. She breathed a sigh of relief when Grams just turned back to the stove pretending to be busy cutting carrots.
Lucky looked at Grams then back at Elizabeth. "Oh ok, I'll call you when dinner is ready." He answered her. He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "It was nice seeing you again Liz. My mom can't wait to see you tonight." He said as he walked out the kitchen then through the front door. Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief.
"Elizabeth dear, why don't you put that poor boy out of his misery and just tell him you are not interested." Grams finally said.
"Grams you don't think I tried that. I've told him over and over that we are through but it won't sink into his head. He's driving me nuts."
"Are you sure you don't want to get back with him?"
"Yes I'm sure."
"That came out fast little sis are you sure you are over Spencer?" Steven asked walking in through the kitchen door. Elizabeth flew off the stool she was sitting on and into his arms.
"Oh my goodness Steven I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too Lizzie Bear." Steven said using the childhood nickname he came up for her ever since she was 5 years old. Steven was about 8 years older than Elizabeth. He was her half brother. Her father Jeff Webber was with Steven's mother Heather and their relationship produced a son. Heather moved out to California with Steven. He decided that he wanted to get to know his father and his little sister, so when Elizabeth was 8 years old Steven came to live with them. They instantly bonded with each other and Elizabeth adored her older brother. She was devastated when he graduated from college and moved to Port Charles. Elizabeth became a holy terror to her parents, so much so they decided to let her move to Port Charles from Colorado to live with her grandmother and be near Steven since they were traveling out of the country 8 months out of the year anyways. Of course relationships change over time, with Elizabeth doing her own thing in high school and Steven completing his residency their relationship wasn't as tight as it was when he first moved in with her but the love between them was still the same. They always wanted the best for each other which is why Steven could not stand Lucky Spencer. He hated the way the young man put Elizabeth on an emotional rollercoaster. Suffice to say he was glad to hear that Elizabeth had broken up with him and was going away for college although he missed her terribly. She had lived a pretty sheltered life and he wanted her to get out there an experience all that life had to offer someone has talented and smart as his little sister.
"Steven I'm 21 years old when are you going to stop calling me Lizzie bear?"
"Elizabeth you could be 41 years old and you will always be my baby sister and my little Lizzie bear that I had to carry around all the time because you refused to walk. You did it to yourself sister." Elizabeth just stared at him with mock disdain.
"Alright how about I call you just "Bear" is that better? He said laughing pulling her into another hug.
"It's a start." She said pulling away from him. "Where's this new girlfriend of yours?" Elizabeth said looking around him to see if someone else was in the room.
"Oh, she's not an early riser so she'll be here in a couple hours. So what are we cooking? Steven answered wrapping his arms around Elizabeth's shoulder. Elizabeth looked around the kitchen at her Grams and Steven and realized just how happy she was to be home.
