They are trying so hard to change the show but why would you change something that wasn't broken.  Now it's definitely broken. I believe most soap viewers are comfort viewers.  Soap is something that should not really change over time.  New viewers are inherited through older audiences.  We do like the ocassional cheating and bitch slapping but overall, I like the sappy family moment and stupid love fest between couple but only the couple I like to see progress and make sense.  There are some things that are considered unforgivable in soap.

Love this, Snookie. I couldn't agree more.

There is a formula for soap that's why it has lasted this long.  It has pretty much withstand through the changes of time but one thing should remain is what family want to inspire for. Technology might change the way we view things as well as we communicate but that's the only thing that differs from the decade of the 70's to now.  What remain the same is family always want to strive better and couples to overcome hardships but like I said there are things that are unforgiveable and when it becomes unforgiveable you don't change the character, you move them forward.  Isn't that how individuals are?  Rather than looking back and wanting to go back through those dark times you strive forward and hopefully become a better person.  None of the characters in GH has move forward.  They are stuck in a time warp and most have moved backwards.
