I know I don't post much.  But I have to rant just a little:

Ok, above someone said Carly said she can't imagine how this feels.  Really?  I guess we are all supposed to forget Tamara Braun's Carly being told that kidnapped Michael was dead several years ago.  It was one of her last scenes before Jennifer Branford (not sure about her last name) came on as NuCarly2.  So yes, Carly *would* be able to imagine what it's like to lose your child.

This storyline itself (while I loathe that they have killed Jake) is not a bad storyline.  But, oh my GOSH, it could have been written so. much. better.
Carly should not be coming off like a selfish b*tch.  She should be written as an agonized mother who hates herself for even asking, but desperate to save her baby, goes to Liz, the woman she's always hated and begs her to do this for Joss.  Heck, in keeping with character, she could have even thrown in a 'Do it for Jason, so Jake can save his goddaughter's life', and still be a *little* selfish, while still retaining some sympathetic qualities there.
Liz absolutely could be shown tearing into Jason.  the slap--that was actually the BEST thing they wrote that day.   But then they needed to follow that up with her maybe collapsing in his arms and he and her grieving for a moment together.  Even maybe showing Lucky walking in, unseen, and respectfully backing away and crying by himself in the hallway.
Liz should have found Jason in the house.
*Bobbie* should have been brought in to talk to Liz about the organ donation--I mean HELLO, Joss is her granddaughter, and she also gave up her own daughter's heart to save another child.
 Mac should be there.
Audrey should be there.
Laura wouldn't rush home from France, or wherever she is for this?  Really?
Monica should be there for Jason.  Edward should be blustering around the hospital posturing about finding out who did this etc.  Showing him in a private moment with a tear or two rolling down for the great grandson he never knew.
Sonny  is supposed to be Jason's friend, and he hasn't gotten on the jet to fly home and be there for Jason.  And, just for a nod to history, he could try to comfort Liz like she comforted him over the death of his baby with Carly many years ago.
Show Carly and Liz finally bonding as Liz sees baby Joss after the operation and Carly slowly hands the baby to Liz and Liz holds her close and cries for her son, then gives her back and Carly, with tears rolling, hugs her and tells her she can never do anything to make up for it, but she's so grateful to Liz and she's welcome to come see Joss anytime, etc etc.  (yes, Carly can be nice.  When she wants to be LOL)

ETA: Thought of another rant.  LOL  We all know Luke it going to be the one who hit Jake.  And they'll ship him off to rehab or something, he'll never be charged, or he'll get off with probation or time in Shadybrook.  Yet Michael had to go to *prison* for protecting his mother and baby sister by smacking Claudia in the head.  I mean, yes, it's a soap, so realistic is not completely expected, but at least a BIT of reality.  I mean come on.

And really, have it be someone better than Luke.  Have it be Lucky.  Have it be Sam.  Have it be Kristina, or Michael, or some random idiot who ends up being a drunk driver and show the sadness that Jason Quartermaine was taken by a drunk driver and now Jason Morgan's son is gone b/c of one too.  Etc.  Heck, have it be Helena, kidnapping Jake to punish Lucky, then finding out it was Jason's son, and show him goign after her.  Let her slip away at the last second, (we can't kill off ALL the bad guys LOL) and have Jason focus on her, after saving Jake and bringing him back to Liz one more time.

ARGH.  Just reading the recaps makes me angry.  I'm glad I'm not watching.  SO glad.  If you want to see a *good* story that is similar (yep, they ripped this storyline off.  sigh.) go to Youtube and watch the BJ's heart storyline.  Felicia and Bobbie will break your heart sitting on the floor crying together.  Dr. Tony as he listens to B.J.'s heart in Maxie's chest.  I didn't even WATCH back then, I was too young, but I watched it on YouTube and it killed me. I was bawling my eyes out.
