So got a bit further this time guys, hope you enjoy, again no tomato tossing please. Oh and FYI, love all the responses, glad you guys are liking it and that it sparks debate.

“Patrick said he was fine Jason.” Robin assured him. “Kids fall down all the time, and come out no worse for the wear.”

“I know, I know it’s just, what would have happened if I weren’t here? If I were still out of town on business, or if I didn’t make it home after business?” He asked cryptically. “Epiphany couldn’t even admit him when Sam brought him in because they needed a parent’s signature.”

“You just need to take a second and relax, everything worked out. You were here and able to sign for his treatment. Now he is resting and going to be released in just a few short hours, why don’t you go get some fresh air until then? You have had a lot happen today. I’ll find you if there is any change.” She added hopefully.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Jason abruptly asked.

“I don’t know.” She honestly answered. “I was planning to, that’s why I called you over, but then Patrick got the test results back and everything changed.”

“How?” Jason asked, trying to understand.

“Before we just thought Elizabeth had amnesia, that her memories would eventually come back but now…”

“Now you don’t think she will ever remember?” He asked “What about earlier, she remembered, she remembered fighting with me.”

“I can’t explain earlier, for all medical reasons Elizabeth should not be having any memories or flashes of memories. She didn’t see you obviously in the memory though, if she did she would have recognized you.” Robin continued. “The medicine she is taking is going to help her stop losing her memories, but it can’t help her get her old ones back Jason.”

“So she won’t remember the boys?” He asked sadly.

“No” she whispered looking down. “She can’t remember anyone before 2 years ago, and she never will.”

“How do I explain to Jake and Cameron that their mother is alive? How do I make them understand that she didn’t want to be away from them these past two years, but she just didn’t know where she was supposed to be. They know Lucky left them, that he one day dropped them off and decided not to be their dad anymore. I don’t want them to get confused and think that Elizabeth did that to them too. I told them, I told them” he continued tearing up “that their mommy was wishing she was with them every minute, and missing them every minute, but that now she was in heaven and she could see them and that made it okay for her. Cameron was actually more worried about his mom missing him and Jake more then he was worried about her not being with them. How do I bring her to them, how do I explain it to them?”

“Are you sure you should try?” Robin asked

“She is there mother, whether she remembers or not.” Jason adamantly stated.

“Then you need to decide what you’re going to do, the longer you wait the harder this is going to be on everyone. Sam, you, and especially the boys.” Robin prompted.

“Sam is going to be so disappointed.” Jason pointed out. “When Elizabeth died she was still dating Lucky and moved in with him to help out. Then when he left, he just took the kids to Elizabeth’s grandmother, didn’t even tell her or say goodbye. But when Audrey called me, the first night I had the boys they were so confused and scared Robin. I had to call Sam to come over, they didn’t even know me.”

“Is that why you got back together with her?” Robin asked, always wondering how he ended back in a relationship with Sam.

“It seemed like the right thing to do, the boys they needed her. Elizabeth and I thought that we would tell everyone about Jake, then let the boys get used to me being around more during the engagement before we moved into a house together. But then…”

“Then the accident with the Haunted Star happened?” Robin finished for him.

“Yeah, um, I have something I need to check on, will you call me if there is a change?” Jason closed up and asked as he began to walk away.

The Metrocourt

“What are you still doing here?” Sam venomously asked.

“Elizabeth decided she wanted to stay a little while longer, see what she could learn about herself.” EJ stated as he walked across the room to pour himself a drink.

“That wasn’t the plan!” She huffed. “I don’t care what you have to do, you get her out of Port Charles.”

“Jason has already seen her, today on the docks. So did he tell you?” EJ teased knowing the answer.

“It doesn’t matter. She doesn’t remember him, so there is nothing to keep her from leaving with you. I thought you wanted her.”

“Oh I do, just not this way.” EJ replied.

“Well this is the only way you can have her, if she remembers its all over.”

“For who Sam? For you? I suggest you remember who you’re dealing with here, I am the one holding all the cards in this scheme, while you are the one with everything to lose.” EJ smoothly reminded the woman.

“She is a stripper EJ, you made her a stripper is she really worth all this trouble?”

“Oh soon they forget, but you see Sam not everyone that starts out striping in my club begins banging men for money” EJ stated with a knowing eye.

“We had a deal EJ, nothing has changed.”

“Oh but it has, you see I don’t like to be threatened. When I am, well I see it as a challenge, and I hate to lose a challenge. So this is your notice, the deal is off.”

“You’ll be sorry” Sam threatened again as she began to walk to the door.

“I’m actually looking forward to seeing how it all plays out, imagine the “Angel” verses the “She Devil”. By the way, do you still have that costume?” He teased as she slammed the door.

Docks

Jason walked straight to the edge of the dock taking a deep breath as he was lost in contemplation.

“Was your son okay?” she asked the man from the bench she was sitting on surprising him. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.”

“No, I mean, you didn’t. He is going to be fine, just some bumps and bruises.” He stated as he looked around the empty docks surrounding them. “Its not safe to be out here alone at night.” He informed her, causing her to smile.

“Says the man that came out here to be alone?” She asked knowingly.

“Well” He couldn’t help but smile. “That’s a little different.”

“Believe me, I’ve done much more dangerous things in my time then sitting on an empty dock. But if your worried, don’t be. I’ll protect you if anyone unsavorery sorts come upon us.”

“Oh really?” He laughed. “And how exactly do you plan on doing that?” He asked.

“I’ll figure it out when I have to, always do.” Causing him to frown, not liking that admission. Sensing the change she changed subjects. “So how old is your son.”

“Sons.” He corrected. “I have 2, Jake” he began approaching the bench pulling a picture out of his wallet. “he is four.” Carefully watching her face as she looked at the photograph.

“He looks just like you.” She commented as she handed the picture back to the man.

“And Cameron, he will be 7 soon. He looks just like his mother.” He admitted as he exchanged photos with her.

“She must be very beautiful.” She stated while peering at the boy in the photo, unaware of the way the stranger was staring at her.

“She is” he admitted in a gravel voice.

“You said you wanted to talk to me earlier.” She remembered as she gave him back his final picture. “So you must have known Elizabeth.”

“Yes, I knew you.”

“This is so weird.” She admitted.

“What?” He asked hopefully.

“Just, I spent all this time looking for who I was, trying to find out anything about myself. And I come here and everyone seems to know me. Where was everyone at when I was looking?” She mused aloud.

“What, what do you mean?” He asked not understanding.

“Never mind, you couldn’t understand.” She admitted.

“Try me?”

“Do you know how strange if feels to wake up and not know anything? Like what you like and don’t like, the name of your parents, where you live? Probably not.” She mused.

“Actually, I know exactly what that feels like.” He admitted, catching her off guard. “I was in a accident years ago, my bother was drinking and ran the car we were in into a tree. When I woke up there were all these people there, and they all tried to tell me who I was, and tried so hard to make me remember.”

“Did you?” She asked interested.

“No. They were all strangers to me. It didn’t matter that they were my parents, my family, my friends before. When I woke I felt nothing for them. All I wanted was for them to leave me alone.” He admitted.

“That must have been hard for them. Did you ever end up feeling anything for them again?” She asked.

“You mean besides hate and resentment?” He asked.

“Now I don’t understand.” She asked perplexed.

“They wanted me to go right back to being who they all knew me as, but I wasn’t him anymore. Some of them eventually began to accept me for the person I became, but I don’t think it was ever really the same feelings they had for the guy that disappeared in the accident. My mother, she loves me, I know she does but sometimes even now, I can see in her eyes that look of disappointment that I’m not the same person she raised. And of course, then I feel guilty.”

“You shouldn’t feel guilty over something you couldn’t control. It wasn’t your fault you’re not what someone wanted you to be.”

“But I love her, so it’s hard to know she would prefer that you were someone else. But I think it might be harder for her.”

“How so?”

“Because she is the one that has to see me and be reminded of her loss. I didn’t really understand how hard that could be until recently.” Jason admitted.

“Well I think your lucky. You woke up and had all these people that could tell you what happened, and whether you wanted to be that person again or not, you knew where you came from, and you knew you were loved. You had options. I woke up and the person that was sitting there had the same questions I had, who was I, how did I get there, should she call anyone.”

“Were you scared?” He asked, terrified of the answer.

“I don’t think there has been a time that I haven’t been scared.” She admitted for the first time as his phone began to ring.

“I’m sorry this will just take a second.” He apologized before answering.

“Jason? Where are you? I’m at GH and they are getting ready to release Jake but you need to sign him out.” Sam explained.

“I’ll be there in a just a couple minutes.” Jason explained as he rubbed his eyes and looked at Elizabeth.

“Alright I’ll wait with him, I love you.” She prompted just before she heard him end the call.

“Is everything okay?” Elizabeth asked him.

“Will you come somewhere with me?” He asked.

“I really should get back, EJ will worry about me.” She declined, knowing better then to go off in a strange town with a strange man.

“EJ? Is that your?” He left it hanging on purpose.

“He is my boss. He just gets alittle protective over me. For all that he isn’t , he really is a decent guy.” She explained.

“Can I see you again?” Jason asked holding his breath. “Lunch tomorrow? I know this place not far from town, its pretty private so you won’t have to worry about running into a bunch of people you think might know you.”

“I think I would like that.” She admitted with a smile.

“Great I’ll meet you here, say 11?”

“Okay.” She responded with a shy smile as he began to jog up the stairs.

“Hey!” She called out causing him to turn and jog right back down to her.

“Did you forget something?” He asked, smiling at the unintended pun.

“Ya, your name.” She smiled right back.

“Oh I’m sorry, I’m Jason, Jason Morgan.” He stated putting his hand out for her.

Flashback

“Elizabeth this is Jason Morgan, Jason this is my girlfriend Elizabeth.” A boy said just before everything went dark and Elizabeth fainted into Jason’s arms.
