“Dr. Drake?” Jane questioned, pulling Patrick out of his stupor.

“I’m sorry Elizabeth”

“Jane.” She responded

“Excuse me?”

“My name is Jane, and yes, waking up in at Cathy’s is the first memory I can recall.”

“So you haven’t had any flashes of your life before that point, nothing?” He asked calmly, unable to believe that Elizabeth was really sitting in front of him.

“Nothing”

“Hmm, well I’m defiantly going to want to do some tests, normally with amnesia patients they hear a sound or see something familiar and that triggers a memory, the fact that that hasn’t happened in your case could mean a lot of different things.” He explained. “I doubt the memory loss is psychological but I would like to set you up to speak with one of  our…”

“Jane?” a voice interrupted.

“EJ? What are you doing here?” Elizabeth inquired. “Who is watching the club?”

“Well Cathy has been around for some time now and she has been showing interest in working more on the paperwork side of things, and well, she can’t stay on stage forever.”

“Cathy? You let Cathy watch the club? That was so nice of you, she always says she wants to become a manager. Did you know that she even started management classes online last year?”

“No I didn’t know that, but I’m glad, I’ve been considering expanding and well that’s actually part of the reason I’m here. There is a club I’ve been hearing about, and rumor has it the owner is ready to sell.”

“So that was part of the reason, what is the other part? You wouldn’t be checking on me would you?” Elizabeth asked. From the moment she met EJ he became protective of her. She would always be greatful to him for that. He may own a strip club, but he also ran many other lucrative businesses and he treated the club as any other profitable business. He was kind to his dancers, hired the most trustworthy bouncers and at the end of the day you could always count on it to come down to business with EJ.

“Well when you take off and come to one of the most dangerous cities with only Caitlyn as your escort, I worry okay?” He admitted quietly.

“Oh I’m sorry, EJ this is Dr. Drake, Dr. Drake this is my boss EJ”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. So what do you do for a living Elizabeth?”

“Jane.” EJ and Jane responded similtaniously.

“Jane, that’s right. I’m sorry, so what do you do for a living Jane?” Patrick inquired.

“Well I go to school at NYU, I’m studying to become a nurse. I don’t know if its because of all the doctor’s offices and hospitals I’ve been in lately, but I just love the idea of helping people heal. But right now  I dance in order to pay the bills.” She admitted, actually feeling embarrassed for the first time in a long time.

“Can you excuse me.” Patrick blurted before rushing out the curtain.

“Patrick?” Robin questioned as she stood near the nurses station and watched him rush out of the exam room.

“Its Elizabeth” He frantically whispered to Robin.

“What?” Robin asked perplexed.

“The amnesia patient, its Elizabeth!”

“Did you tell her?” Robin demanded

“I can’t!” He claimed as he roughly ran his hands through his hair. “She hasn’t had any flashes of memory. No visions, no dreams, I can’t risk telling her anything until we know what we are dealing with here.”

“She can’t get her tests here Patrick, half the staff would recognize her. Half this town will recognize her! And the boys, Cameron is right next door to her, what if he sees her and she doesn’t recognize him?”

“We are going to have to make sure that doesn’t happen.” Patrick explained.

“Can you arrange for her to get her tests done in New York and see her there?” Robin inquired, thinking it might be the best solution.

“She is a stripper Robin! I’m not sending Elizabeth back to New York so she can, so she can..” He hesitated

“Take her clothes off for money?” Robin filled in for him. “Then we are going to have to send her to Mercy and hope that she doesn’t run  into anyone she knows.”

“Okay so I got Cameron’s antibiotic filled, are you sure he doesn’t need a tetnus shot?” Carly interrupted.

“No he had one last year” Robin explained, as Patrick’s eyes widened at sight of Elizabeth exiting the curtain. “But I do want to take one last look at those stitches, and go over how to care for them.” Robin quickly stated as she led Carly back to the exam room where Cameron waited.

“Jane? Are you leaving?” Patrick asked. “I needed to come out and consult with another doctor about a patient. I didn’t mean to run you off.”

“Are you sure?” She accused. “As soon as I mentioned that I was a stripper you couldn’t get of there fast enough.”

“No, No! I just remembered that I was supposed to pick my daughter, Emma up from Daycare and since I’m going to have to send you to Mercy to get your tests done, I am not going to get there on time and needed to make other arrangements. I’m sorry you had thought something else.

“Why would I have to go to Mercy? I thought General Hospital was the best hospital in the city?”

“It is, but the labs are backed up and given that you’re in from out of town, I thought you would want to get the tests done ASAP. So how does meeting at Mercy in 2 hours sound and we’ll get the ball rolling?” He asked as he began to back them toward the elevators.

“2 hours? We’ll be there” EJ responded.

Just as the elevator doors began to open a little boy who was getting stitches came running out from behind the curtain, and when he looked up and saw Jane standing on the elevator he halted and with a confused look on his face asked “Mommy?” Just before doors closed completely, and Carly assured the boy he was seeing things, and reminded him that his mommy was in heaven.
