Port Charles, NY

“Sam! You have to come to the city. The dress designer is only available a couple days and then he is going back home to Paris. This is our last chance, and if I’m going to make your wedding the talk of Port Charles, not to mention exclusively featured in Couture, you and your bridesmaids, specifically myself, cannot be wearing some cheap out of season knock off, or worse, something from off the rack.” Maxie yelled as she walked around the room packing a suitcase for Sam.

“Maxie, really all Jason and I want is a quiet ceremony, where we can get it done quickly and get the adoption underway. The quicker the better, Jake and Cameron have been through enough already so the faster we can finalize the adoption, explain to the boys that I am now their mother and Jason is their father and we are going to be a family from now on, the better it is for everyone. So you see, I don’t really have time for a fancy wedding, or a trip to New York.”

“Sam!” Jason yelled as he entered the Penthouse. He was amazed at how quiet it was, until he heard Maxie coming down the stairs rambling on about how Sam needs to go see some French Guy and how the whole town will want to be there for this long anticipated day, not to mention the rest of the world, and something about this being the project that could prove to Kate Howard that she deserved to be more then just a co-junior editor with a girl who had no use for fashion or even the figure.

“Hey I wasn’t expecting you back until late, is something wrong” Sam interrupted.

“I just, Maxie can we have a moment?” Jason asked annoyed, before she announced she would be upstairs finishing up packing for Sam.

“What is it?” Sam asked

“Sonny needs me to go out of town for a few days, I know you wanted to just go get married at the courthouse this weekend, but this really can’t wait.”
Sam seemed annoyed, and he couldn’t blame her, she had been pushing for weeks that they hurry up and get married, emphasizing that the faster they can get the legalities of marrage and the adoption over, the better it would be for the boys. And he agreed, they had been living in a limbo for too long already, but this trip was not something he could put off anymore. When Sam accepted the fact that she was not being given the chance to give permission she relented and informed Jason of the trip she was taking with Maxie to New York, and asked him to make arrangements for the kids to stay with Carly for a few days.

New York, NY

Jane got off the old elevator in her equally old apartment building and unlocked the door to her single room apartment. She owned exactly 1 couch, a bed that folded into the wall when it wasn’t in use, and a single 5 drawer dresser. This was a positive thing as nothing else was going to fit into the place. She kicked off the flip flops she changed into after her shift at the club had ended and powered on her laptop. She still had 20 minutes to go online and submit the answers to the quiz her professor had posted before the time limit was out. She didn’t know how she managed it, but ever since beginning at NYU she found that her anatomy class seemed almost second nature to her. Most of the time she didn’t even need to read the chapters to still score well on the tests and quizzes, which was a good thing since she could barely get her English Literature reading in. After she breezed through the quiz, she decided to search through the many photos of the missing persons across the nation again, and yet again didn’t find anything. She wasn’t sure why she chose to look, every single time she is just left being let down. She had tried her best to take the PI she had hired to help her searches advice, to begin to build a new life and try the best she could to move on, but wasn’t that giving up? She wasn’t sure who she was, but she may not know who she was 2 years ago, but she does know that Jane is not a quitter. So she puts herself out there, and is always left asking herself if its worth trying anymore.

It was with this thought months ago, that she came across the name of a Neurosurgeon named Patrick Drake. She had seen doctors and psychiatrists about her condition, most assuring her that if her memory hadn’t returned by now, it most likely never would, but this Dr. Drake, he was supposed to be special, the top of his field, the best. If it were a physical problem and not psychological, he would be able to find it and tell her, and if it were repairable, he would be able to fix it. Now her appointment was only 3 days away, and she was having second thoughts. Who knew who she was, or what she came from, no one had come looking for her or even noticed she was missing, what if she found out she was a horrible person, is it better knowing and going back, or would she be better off taking the PI’s advice and accepting the woman she once was is lost and simply move on? Either way, she didn’t have to make the decision tonight, she would wait to hear what the doctor said, then weigh her options.
