This all makes me sad. Yes, I'm biased, but Liz has always been my favorite character. It killed me that she survived so much just to be turned into a bad cliche in doing every bad thing that Carly, Sam, Courtney and others would do. I never understood why.

I've heard the 'rumors' that Sonny and Luke would be exiting. I think they're important characters that should be relegated to secondary characters. I always like watching GH when we had Steve Hardy, Jesse Brewer and Audrey (even as they aged) and their families carrying on the traditions. Even the big bad Cassadines, although at times I could care less about the Spencers.

Sam should have been a character that showed up, did her stint (con Sonny or Jax, get caught, lose her baby, go on to run other cons), but she got to stay around and make men look stupid and remake herself. How was it that Jason and Sonny, the big bad mob guys who have files and backgrounds on everyone, be taken in? Smart men became stupid.

The Hardy family has always been integral, and Liz is it now. Jason the last of Monica and Allen. These are the building blocks of the show. But it looks like the Jerome family, some parts of the Cassadines and the Corinthos boys will be carrying on the flagship. All mob, no hospital. Sad. I hope this is wrong.

In my world the mob would play a much smaller part in this show, the hospital a much larger part. A few good people every once in a while would have decent things happen to them, not constantly be screwed over by the Sonny's, Carly's and others of their ilk. And there needs to be at least one super couple who carries family traditions and gives us continuity. This would be Jason and Liz for me, of course. They both have more than earned it.
