But regardless, I cannot figure out for the life of me how Aiden was supposed to have been Jason's. Jason/Liz were done long before Aiden was conceived, and Guza admitted that at first, after Becky told him she was pregnant and asked him to write in her pregnancy, he was adamant about not doing it. Then changed his mind because a Spencer/Cassadine WTD s/l was too juicy for him to resist. So, again, how in the world was Aiden supposed to have been Jason's? I'm not getting it at all.

Becky's interviews indicate that she left the choice up to Guza on whether to write in the pregnancy. She certainly felt it would be easier to have it written in since she gets big and it's hard to hide, but she left the choice up to TPTB:

Herbst, Jackson, Christopher interview

How do you feel about your real life pregnancy being written into the show?

Herbst: I’m thrilled.  I told Guza that it really didn’t matter to me one way or the other as long as I continue to work, however it’s much easier for it to be written in.  I’ve covered up a pregnancy before.  That’s just a pain.  Everybody knows I’m pregnant and I get really big.  It’s almost comical trying to pretend that I’m not.

Michael Fairman interview

When your real life pregnancy came about, what did the GH brass say?  Did they go, “Now what are we going to do?”

REBECCA:

Yes.  Originally, Bob Guza (head writer, GH) said, ”Oh no, no, we are not going to write it in.”  Then within five minutes, he changed his mind three times and said, “I will get back to you.”  Then he said, “You get pregnant really fast.”  And I go, “I know I do,” and he said, “No, we can’t cover it up.”  Then he said, “No, I will get back to you.” (Laughs)

MICHAEL:

Isn’t it better that you are not covered up behind plants?

REBECCA:

For me?  Absolutely.  Everyone knows… they can see it in my face and everywhere.  It’s easier to show it off than hide behind purses.
