GH is more balanced than it has been in ten years, so even if JaStank sucked like a whole hog rolling around in a huge pile of dung, I don't see them not going with the pairing.

During last week's Niz scene, I really wish Liz had chosen herself and sent Nik packing.
This reminds me of Beverly Hills, 90210 (the original series) when Kelly chose herself and basically sent Dylan and Brandon packing. Interestingly enough, there's always been something about the character of Kelly Taylor that has reminded me a lot of Elizabeth.

Felix chose himself and decided not to be in a threesome with Lucas and Brad.  I just wish for once we had a scene with Liz choosing herself.

Without a pairing she has no story.

I know.  It's a sad fact on a soap opera.  I just wish Liz had more irons in the fire not named Ric or Nik!

This is the one thing I've always hated about soaps, especially when it comes to female characters. It's like there's some all-powerful force out there that demands that women MUST be in a pairing or else. The thing is, Liz is one of those few characters that DOESN'T have to be in a pairing to make a s/l work for her. She could literally have interactions and be involved in any and almost every s/l, simply because of her history. She is literally connected to all the major (and even minor) players in PC by marriage or birth. Liz is connected to the Hardy/Webber's by birth; to the Spencers/Cassadines by marriage; to Sonny by marriage from Ric; she carried Jax's baby; she's connected to the Q's through Jake, Emily and Jason and even AJ; she has a friendship with Michael because of AJ, which could tie her in with Kiki and Morgan; she has mob ties through Jason; she's even connected to Franco via Steven/Heather; she's connected to Patrick et al through GH. They could even connect Liz to Ava and Nina and Silas, using art and medicine. It really is pathetic how they have so underutilize a character with such a diverse and rich history, seemingly insistent on sticking her in triangle hell. Every s/l on GH, in the past or now, Liz could have had some role in because of all those ties.

I never said it was right, it's just the way things are. Liz has always been the center of the show TPTB just never utilized her in that manner.  The writers usually have to work very hard to give most characters a connection to the canvas, but Liz's interactions have always been very natural. Liason would have been a great way to connect both elements of the series and it was something Guza always planned on doing.
