Previews for the week of 02-Feb-2009
by Carol Banks Weber

The biotoxin was bad enough. But the anesthesia used in this specific surgery has also gotten loose, threatening to turn the hospital into a tinder box. BOOM! What was that?

They wish it were only one BOOM!, but there are more BOOMs to come.

Poor put-upon Patrick doesn't know what to do next or where to turn, so he does the best that he can. Nikolas becomes his wingman, putting out random fires.

Patrick's day just gets worse with news of Robin and Emma's arrival and Emma's dire condition. He receives this news by virtue of Robin's phone message. But before he can call her back for details, the lines go dead after the power goes out.

Patrick cannot warn Robin that the hospital has been put in quarantine.

Earlier, Robin does her usual PPD-avoidance thing with her baby, Emma, when even she notices the infant's odd appearance. The baby is running a fever and seems to be in enormous pain.

Robin overcomes her fear of handling Emma, to rush her to the hospital in a snowstorm and god knows what.

On her way to the hospital, Robin experiences car trouble and must abandon the minivan. Trouble is, her memory begins to get foggy at this point.

Don't worry, Scrubs fans, Robin and Emma make it out okay in the end.

Spinelli asserts his opinion to Jason and Patrick that the FBI is the enemy here, at least where the biotoxin balls are involved. It's an easy sell, 'cause, of course-on GH-the enemy is always on the side of law and order.

Let's leave the rescues and the saving of the world to the mobsters, thugs, doctors and hangers-on.

Spinelli, Patrick and Jason realize with a sober nod that the FBI carries with it its own agenda: retrieving the deadly biotoxin that's leftover-with nobody the wiser.

Patrick must retrieve the leftover biotoxin, before it lands in the wrong hands and kills off more people.

Before heroism can be achieved, a biotoxin ball has been stolen from the OR by an unknown, questionable character.

Spinelli takes it upon himself to risk biotoxin contact by going into the tainted OR-if only to do something to help. As usual, he runs into more trouble than bargained for.

Winifred and the rest of the FBI team locate Spinelli's whereabouts, about two beats before the OR goes BOOM!

The biotoxin's deadly scent afflicts Elizabeth, to where she must remain under constant hospital care, hooked up to tubes and wires.

Lucky thinks nothing of speeding his way to Elizabeth's side and staying there forever. It is then that he and she drop their guards, and get real with one another, with real feelings that have never died.

This tragedy manages to bring Elizabeth and Lucky back together, as if no distance ever occurred. Jason and Sam are conveniently nearby to take stock.

Jax goes crazy with fear, grief and panic-at the thought of Carly scared inside the hospital without him.

Jax and Carly make sure to let one another know that there's deep, abiding love anyway.

Tracy finds herself unable to go anywhere. And then, she finds herself dropping like a stone.

Edward's true feelings emerge about Tracy, when he's forced to confront her possible death.

Olivia and Kate puzzle over the disappearance of the damaging evidence (of the DVD) that would effectively wipe Claudia out in Sonny's eyes.

Anthony makes several attempts to eliminate the evidence (Claudia) of his own hit on Kate. He has the advantage of coming and going wherever he pleases in the hospital, while his daughter must remain in the hospital bed, recovering.

The first time Anthony tries to pull Claudia's plug, Sonny steps in.

The second time, Claudia's conscious enough to ring for help.

In the midst of making a getaway, Anthony comes face to face with Trevor, who notices that the wheelchair was an act.

Trevor tries to make mincemeat out of Anthony.

Claudia tells on Anthony, by spilling all to Sonny.

Sonny goes Anthony huntin', by using Claudia's hospital room as a lure.

Jason may circumvent Sonny's murderous intent.

Sonny lets Jason handle the Anthony situation.

After seemingly weeks and weeks of near-misses, Nikolas finally runs into the young woman who bears a striking resemblance to Emily, except for the skull cap, the blonde hair, the gum-chewing and the knowing smirk.

Nikolas doesn't get the chance to see what this Emily lookalike is about, because their surroundings go BOOM!

Johnny and Maxie take a moment to consider the ramifications of throwing caution to the wind, and knowing one another carnally.

Lulu's next boyfriend(?), Ethan, meets Luke in unusual circumstances. It's like meeting his younger twin.

Next week: Biotoxin mayhem lingers on… Kate deals with Claudia directly… Peril lands in Carly and Sonny's lap.
