Well, as hard as this is, this is the last chapter. BUT, there is a preview to a sequel at the end. I hope to start this soon, after I finish up with the Battle Of The Enforcers and The Wedding Planner. I love this quad and hope to continue them for a while!

Kayla, I cannot thank you enough for bringing this idea to me! I am having so much fun with it! I hope I have done your idea justice and will continue to try to do so in the sequel. Hugs to you, my friend!

Chapter 9: Family Bonds….

Jason awoke to the faint smell of vanilla as his eyes opened and he looked down to find Elizabeth in his arms. A wide smile crossed his face as his mind let him realize that his dreams were finally going to come true. After their talk and a long night of passionate lovemaking, he and Elizabeth were moving forward…together as a family.

The feel of her naked body molded against him, the peace that was flowing over her beautiful features as she slept with a sweet smile across her lips, everything about this moment was what he had wanted for as long as he could remember-and it was all real.

Elizabeth shivered slightly in his arms, so Jason pulled the blanket up tighter around them. He wasn't sure what time it was, but wanted Elizabeth to sleep as long as possible, so he could remain in this precious moment for as long as he could.

As he began to doze once more, Elizabeth's bedroom door quietly opened ever so slightly as Cam and Jake began their morning ritual of sneaking in to wake their mother. Within a few moments, Jason was physically reminded of Elizabeth's warning as the boys pounced on top of him, giggling as they pulled back the covers, almost sending all three of them off the end of the bed in a startled jump.

Cam's eyes went wide as he exclaimed at the strange man in his mommy's bed, "You're not mommy!" Then, he suddenly recognized who he was bouncing on top of and happily exclaimed, "Jason!"

Jake's eyes were still wide, but relaxed as he felt the security of his brother's recognition. Slowly, he bounced along Jason's side until he was able to peer curiously at Jason with a shy smile.

"Hey, guys," Jason happily greeted the young boys, looking over slightly as Elizabeth rolled over and smiled up at him mouthing, "Told you!"

"Jason? Why are you in mommy's bed?" Cam inquired innocently, "Did you have a sleep over?" An excitement filled Cam's eyes as he quickly followed with, "Did you bring your motorcycle? Please, please say you did!"

"Ah, well…" Jason looked uncomfortably over at Elizabeth, who sat up as she pulled the covers up to her chin, "Cam, Jason did not bring his motorcycle, but if you are really good today..." Taking her gaze back to lock with Jason's, Elizabeth's eyes filled with love, "maybe he will bring it by tonight."

Jason smiled as he turned to look at Cam's hopeful grin, agreeing, "I think I can do that."

"Yay!" Cam said, jumping up and down on Jason's stomach as Jake giggled, bouncing with him.

"Alright, alright!" Elizabeth gently scolded, "Let's not hurt Jason! Come on, mommy will get breakfast started."

Cam crashed down on Jason's chest, wrapping his little arms around his neck as he hugged him, "I'm glad you and mommy had a sleep over, Jason! Will you stay for breakfast?"

"Sure, buddy," Jason said, patting Cam's back, "I'd love to."

"Yay! I'm going to make you waffles!" Cam squealed, jumping down to the floor, "Come on, Mommy!"

Elizabeth leaned over to quickly capture Jason's lips in a soft kiss, parting with a blissful grin, "I love you."

"I love you too," Jason whispered, as Elizabeth pulled her robe on and climbed out of bed.

Jason looked down to find Jake climbing on his stomach, peering at him with perplexed eyes, as if he was still trying to figure out who he was. Elizabeth reached down to pick him up, but Jason gently stopped her, "I can bring him downstairs."

Tears began to well in Elizabeth's eyes as she nodded slowly and stared in amazement at the overwhelming resemblance between father and son, exhaling softly, "Okay." Cam was pulling her out of the room, but before she exited, Elizabeth looked back one more time as Jason smiled down at his curious baby boy.

Alone with Jake, Jason stared at every feature and found that everyone was right. Jake was the spitting image of his father. With a smile, Jason swallowed the lump forming in his throat and said, "Hey, Jake! I know you don't remember me, but I want you to know…I love you very much."

Jake's eyes narrowed as he tilted his head to the side, reaching out and touching Jason's nose and pointing to his own, "Same."

With glazed eyes, Jason responded quietly, "Yeah, I guess they are."

Jake took his fingers slowly up to Jason's crystal blue eyes and then touched his, "Same too."

"Yeah," Jason laughed softly, taking the little boy's hand and placing it flat against his, turning it in the air, breathing out, "Same here too."

Jake's eyes crinkled up as his mouth spread into a long wide smile, "Dat's funny!"

Jason's mouth widened into his own wide smile as Jake fell into his chest and wrapped his tiny arms around Jason's neck, "You stay?"

His arms tightening around his young son, Jason whispered, "I stay, buddy…how does forever sound?"

Jason had a little skip to his step as he walked into Sonny's office, a smile still covering his face. When he opened the door and walked into the doorway, he found Sonny and Johnny deep in conversation, both of them stopping immediately and turning to look at him.

Deciding to give Johnny a little taste of his own medicine, Jason slammed the door behind him and let his face instantly fall into a deep grimace as he shot him a hard glare, "You're brave…I thought you would have been smart enough to call out today."

"Now, Jason," Sonny chided, eyeing him carefully, "Let's not act too hastily. I asked Johnny here this morning so we could work this out. I don't want a war in my own organization…and I need both of you."

Jason charged towards Johnny, who immediately jumped up and readied himself, reluctantly, for a fight by bringing up his fists in front of his face.

Jason got to within inches of Johnny's blocked features and laughed as he extended his hand towards his friend, "Thank you…for helping me to see what I was missing."

Johnny dropped his arms to his sides as he measured Jason's face and widened into an ecstatic grin, "You went to Lizzie's house, didn't you?" His voice raising an octave, he repeated, "Didn't you? You finally decided to get your head out of your-"

Jason raised his hand in warning as he cut off Johnny's last word, "Don't push it! I'm still considering killing you for what you did!"

Johnny jumped up and down joyfully as he looked over at Sonny, "He did it! Finally!"

"I see that," Sonny smiled, nodding approvingly at Jason, "About time!"

"Seriously," Jason's voice boomed over them, "Don't either of you ever think of doing anything like that to me again!"

A sharp knock came on the door right before Emily stormed into the room, staring down her brother in obvious fury, "I'm sorry to barge in here like this, Sonny, but I need to speak with my brother!"

Johnny started walking over towards his girlfriend, "Umm, sweetness? I think that you need to know that-"

"Not now!" Emily spat at him, her eyes blazing as Johnny stopped instantly in his tracks right beside Jason, "I already told you…I'm going to do this, even if Jase doesn't want to hear what I have to say!"

"Um, Emily, I think you may want to listen to Johnny for just a second," Sonny said with wide eyes. He had rarely seen Emily angry, much less this furious.

"No offense, Sonny," Emily politely, but curtly replied, "But I wouldn't interfere in this if I were you!"

Jason was the last to try and calm his sister, "Emily, if you will just-"

Emily instantly walked over in front of her brother and held her hand up to him, "You don't get to say anything! Not until I'm through with what I have to say!"

Johnny stared with stunned wide eyes as he leaned his head over to whisper to Jason, "I've got just one word for you, man….Antartica! I would find a way to get there…quick!"

"Maybe we should let Emily have her say," Sonny drawled out from behind them. Jason turned to look at him incredulously as Sonny shrugged his shoulders, "Well, it's not like you don't deserve it…just a little anyway."

"Thank you, Sonny," Emily smiled in satisfaction.

"Would you like us to leave?" Sonny asked, humorously motioning between himself and Johnny.

Johnny instantly pouted as he protested, "And miss all the action?"

"No," Emily stated, "Since both of you were involved in our little plan you can hear this too."

Jason waved his hands in defeat as he braced himself for the unnecessary fall-out and quietly replied, "Well, I guess you can go ahead then."

Emily took in a deep breath as she started, "The only thing I have ever wanted for you was your happiness and love, Jase. Every woman you have ever attempted to have a relationship with has never worked out. At first, I thought that was because you always chose the wrong women."

Her eyes softened as Emily declared, "Now I know the true reason why…you couldn't give them you whole heart…because it has belonged to Elizabeth for probably longer than you would even admit to yourself."

Jason shifted uncomfortably and his eyes dropped to the ground as he whispered, "It was never a question of loving her."

The softness quickly disappeared from Emily's gaze, replaced by renewed anger, her voice rising with irritation, "Then what is it, Jason? Why have you continued to deny what is right in front of you? You love Elizabeth! Elizabeth loves you! Look at the lengths she has gone to try and show you just how much! Why did it take a lie to make you see it? And now that you see it, how can you throw it all away again!"

Jason own guilt over the wasted months of misery and need to defend himself against the hard truth of his actions towards the woman he loved was outweighed by a profound relief that Elizabeth had someone like Emily as her best friend. Someone who would stand up for her the way he should have all along.

Looking back up into his sister's awaiting gaze, Jason replied quietly, "That's what we have been trying to tell you, Emily. I went to Elizabeth's house last night to tell her what I'm going to tell you now…I don't plan on ever walking away from my love for Elizabeth again!"

Emily's jaw dropped as she exhaled heavily, "Wait! Did you just say…you went to Elizabeth's house last night?"

Johnny quickly walked over and took Emily in his arms, "That's right, sweetness! Jason and Lizzie…they worked it all out! In fact, I'm surprised Lizzie hasn't called you yet!"

Emily's cheeks instantly turned crimson as she said with teary eyes, "I was in such a hurry, I left it at home." With a regretful expression, she began her apology to Jason, "I'm so sorry, Jase! I-I thought…" Tears spilled down her face as her throat felt like it was closing, refraining her from continuing.

Jason immediately walked over and hugged Emily tightly as he leaned down and softly replied, "I'm not. I'm glad Elizabeth has you in her life. Everything you said is true, but I promise, I'm going to make it up to her, Emily. I'm going to make it up to all of them."

Sonny broke his silence as he said, "Why don't you start right now? There isn't much going on here today. Why don't you, Elizabeth, Johnny, and Emily take the day off and have some fun?"

Johnny looked over, surprised, "Really?"

"Yeah," Sonny winked at Emily, "I think you could all use it. But, I need to talk to Jason a minute before you go."

"Thanks, Sonny," Emily smiled as she left holding Johnny's hand as he said under his breath, "I may have you lose your temper more often, sweetness! I can get a day off and I have to admit, you are sexy when you're angry!"

When they were out of sight, Sonny smiled at Jason, "You're doing the right thing, you know."

"I know," Jason nodded, "I realized that when I woke up with Elizabeth beside me and when Cam and Jake came in the room…and when Jake…"

Sonny noticed Jason's expression change when he said his son's name, "When Jake what?"

Jason looked over at Sonny with pride in his grin, "He said we were the same."

"Nothing like that feeling, is there?" Sonny said with an understanding nod.

"I never imagined anything feeling like that," Jason said in awe.

Sonny laughed under his breath, "Yeah. Which is why I want you to go be with your family! Now get outta here!"

"Thanks," Jason said appreciatively, "For everything."

Jason, Elizabeth, Johnny, and Emily sat on their picnic blanket as they watched Cam and Jake playing with Cam's soccer ball in front of them.

"So," Johnny smiled wickedly, "I guess we are officially the J&E Musketeers!"

"The J&E Musketeers?" Jason asked incredulously, pulling Elizabeth into his lap, causing her to drop the empty picnic basket and giggle as he continued, "You're kidding, right?"

"Well," Johnny asked hurtfully, "I just figured, you know…Jason/Elizabeth-Johnny/Emily? And the musketeers because with Lizzie and Emily being best friends and all…" Johnny grinned once more, "You are going to have to get used to double dates, my friend!"

Jason leaned down to whisper loudly in Elizabeth's ear, "Do me a favor? Take my gun and shoot me now!"

"Jason!" Elizabeth laughed out, swatting him on the leg, "Be nice! Johnny and I have formed a very tight bond of friendship with our little masquerade!"

Emily maneuvered herself into Johnny's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and looking with humored eyes into his, "And besides that, your sister loves Johnny O'Brien more than she ever thought possible! Bad jokes and all!"

"Fine," Jason sighed, "Love him if you must, but no J&E musketeers!"

"We are going to have to work on your fun factor," Johnny jokingly replied, pulling Emily back and leaning his chin on her shoulder, "What do you think, Lizzie?"

"I think I'm perfectly happy right now," Elizabeth said, leaning her head back and giving Jason a soft tender kiss, "Especially since we have taken off the masks and are finally living out our happiness with the person we have always desired!"

Jake and Cam looked over and giggled at the sight of Jason and Elizabeth kissing each other tenderly on the blanket as Johnny leaned down and laid his lips on Emily's in a tender kiss as well...all four of them publicly acknowledging the love that was always in their hearts.

Preview: Double Jeopardy

For six months, all was perfect in the lives of Jason, Elizabeth, Johnny, and Emily. So perfect, Jason and Johnny decided to take the next step and pop the question to their true loves.

Unfortunately, an old ghost is coming to town to cause havoc and trouble in the Corinthos-Morgan organization.

Can Jason and Johnny survive the girls' big plans for a double wedding, rid Port Charles of an old enemy, and still make it to the down the aisle to finally marry the women they love? Or will the enemy attempt to make Elizabeth and Emily's wedding day become a double jeopardy?
