Well, I didn't really do as extensive research of vintage Liason as I would liked to have, but nonetheless I can answer the question: "When did Jason fall in love with Elizabeth?"

So bare with me… this is a little long of an analysis.

We heard during B&W ball sweeps, that Liz thinks she might have fallen for Jason the first time at Jakes when he saved her. For Jason, I think it started out as a friendship, with really strong feelings underneath. For one thing, Elizabeth was Emily's best friend, and therefore, much younger than him. Second, as we know Jason, he probably wanted to be her friend, her go-to guy, seeing that she was grieving Lucky's death at the time. Plus, if I am not mistaken, he was trying with Carly back then... they were friends with benefits of sort. I think for Jason, Elizabeth was a breath of fresh air, a friend that mesmerized him. Plus, whatever feelings that he may have, were buried as he figured she was unattainable being young and well, still hung up on her dead boyfriend. They went out for some bike rides; they talked about anything and everything. But I think it was after he got shot (in 1999), that the connection developed, and during the time he was nursed back to health he really started to see Elizabeth in a not-just-a-friend light. This is when I feel Jason actually fell in love with Elizabeth… he saw another side to her other than being loyal and naïve: he saw feisty, caring, and willing to help and give anyone & everyone she calls her friend. A friend with no strings attached… who just sometimes want to be heard and talk her heart out.

But then he left, and when he did return, he had hoped that she would feel the same towards him. And she did, however, with Lucky back in the picture, her trait of loyalty kicked in, and confused the already naïve girl. The FOD scenes (which are one my favs) really show the true emotions that these two felt for each other. But, Elizabeth chose Lucky and that pretty much ended whatever might have been. On Jason's second return, the friendship was renewed. Elizabeth was no longer with Lucky, and I think they both wanted to try. But Elizabeth slept with Zander, as Jason was called in for work by Sonny. Despite that and Jason constantly pushing her away for her safety, they gave their feelings a try. One quality that Elizabeth has always loved about Jason, and what their friendship was initially based on was trust and honesty. Faking Sonny's death and not telling Liz about it (even though it was 'business') was a big mistake, and I believe neither of them knew how to handle that situation. For Elizabeth & Jason, love cannot exist without trust. The truth was she did love him and did understand what he did why he did, but it left her to wonder why she wasn't important enough for him to trust her. Feeling angry and her heart betrayed, Elizabeth left. At that point, Jason also realized that perhaps it was for the best… he didn't want to involve Elizabeth in the business side of his life to begin with, simply because his life was a death wish, and he really didn't want any of that danger or fear to come near Elizabeth. To paraphrase Jason's own words to/for Elizabeth "I can't describe what I feel for you… I can't begin to describe what you are to me"! He really did have Elizabeth high up on a pedestal (still does), she was who he always wanted to be with, but Jason never deemed worthy of her affections.

At this time, Jason's love for Elizabeth got buried even deeper underneath, as I think it would have been too painful for him to watch her walk away again. Then came the Courtney era… I think this started out as a rebound relationship for Jason, but he did begin loving her, and eventually married & later divorced her. She was Sonny's sister & Carly's best female friend, so it was like a circle being complete. But, it was too perfect for life, and we all know love and life are anything but perfect! Out of jealousy at first, Liz moved on as well… with Ric. I am sure she cared for him and later on started to love him, but the bond wasn't as deep as she had with Jason. The problem was though, the Jason chapter in her life had ended without much closure and with Ric in the picture her deep friendship had turned into bitterness and regret, if anything. However, there was still that underlying bond that the two could never truly break even if they tried.

With Ric and Courtney out of the picture, Elizabeth let herself believe in rekindling her first love with Lucky, and Jason let himself fall for Sam, who seem to be able to handle the dangers of his life and didn't really care for his occupation. All the feelings Elizabeth ever had for Jason, were now covered up, as she was a mother… and although she might have been able to handle Jason's life, she surely wasn't going to risk an innocent infant's life. Being a mother for the first time, led Elizabeth farther away from Jason's life and whatever hopes that there might have been, it was certainly a closed chapter in her life. However, circumstances or rather as fate would have it, their friendship renewed on the same terms as before. No strings attached, just a simple someone to talk to and relate to through all of life's troubles and enigmas. The trust that never completely died resurfaced. Elizabeth wasn't the young, naïve girl; the aspiring artist who had painted the wind for him and had once let herself out his penthouse door. She had matured into a mother, nurse and a wife. She accepted Jason for who he was, and admired him for who he truly was. And likewise, Jason accepted Elizabeth for who she really was and admired her strength in tackling life and all its uncertainties.

The ultimate betrayal by their companions/spouses put the stars in motion for an Elizabeth/Jason re-union. She came to her friend who always listened, to pour out her heart's pain… and found that Jason was in as much hurt as she was. The two talked their feelings out about the whole situation. They talked about their past, coming to terms with whatever had happened between them… there were no regrets on either part, as they both felt they still had their unique friendship, and that was the most important thing. It was almost a decade ago that both Elizabeth and Jason had talked or been around each other like this. I think in that moment, with all the black, white and grays of life, Jason let himself feel what he had always felt for Elizabeth. Seeing her walking out of the penthouse again, he pulled her back… he didn't want to let go this time. And, it was the same for her as well… as she let herself lose in the moment of love that she always felt. It was years ago that they had only kissed (with fire and passion), but all that was lost in the wind once she walked out of Jason's place. This time, the time of NOP, our duo succumbed to their love, even if it was only for one night. They knew the reality of the situation and all the reasons why they couldn't be together despite the passion and feelings they had for one another. That fateful night created Jacob Martin, the son of Jason & Elizabeth. In an imperfect situation, an imperfect love was re-kindled, and I will be cheesy here, a miracle was created.

Although their minds had allowed them to share that love for one night only, the two couldn't help but be drawn to each other, their hearts could not/never say No to one another. Elizabeth's pregnancy, the eventual birth of baby Jake, Sam's lies, and Lucky's lack of faith in his wife as a mother was just a catalyst in resurfacing Jason & Elizabeth's LOVE.
